Association of Faculty Clubs, Inc. Gathers for General Assembly Highlighting Faculty Welfare and Union Development

The Rizal Technological University (RTU) Association of Faculty Clubs, Inc. (AFCI) holds a general assembly on January 24, 2025, at the RTU Plenary Hall, Dr. J.V. Estolas Building, RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus. The affair brought together educators and leaders to address key subjects related to faculty welfare and decisions relevant to the association’s programs.

Dr. Hiene Roy C. Barcelona, the AFCI President, officially opened the assembly with a warm welcome message, stressing the significance of the event in fostering collaboration and dialogue among faculty members. This was followed by an inspirational message delivered by Mr. Arnel Jaming, President of the RTU Association of Administrative Personnel (ASAP).

One of the key moments of the morning session was the discussion covering critical concerns on the medical allowance for government employees and the presentation of HMO card providers.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Barcelona then presented the proposed Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) for 2026-2029, outlining future plans to strengthen faculty benefits and rights. Asst. Prof. Michael M. Mesinas, Vice President-External of AFCI, took the stage to discuss the newly drafted Constitution and By-Laws of the association, emphasizing the importance of aligning organizational governance with current standards. 

The RTU-AFCI General Assembly underscored the university’s dedication to creating a supportive environment for its faculty. Through meaningful dialogue and strategic initiatives, RTU continues to empower its educators, ensuring their vital role in shaping the future of education.
