Officials from Rizal Technological University (RTU) met with executives of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. at the company’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China, on June 5, 2026, to discuss potential areas of collaboration in advancing RTU’s vision of becoming a Smart University.

The meeting was an important step toward exploring how RTU and Huawei can collaborate to implement innovative technologies and digital solutions that will enhance teaching, learning, research, and campus operations.

Representing RTU, Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), presented the university’s strategic vision to transform RTU into a smart, future-ready institution. He highlighted the university’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve academic excellence, operational efficiency, and the overall campus experience for students, faculty, and staff.

Meanwhile, IT Officer Kyle Nicole Alcantara, Director of the Management Information Systems Office (MISO), provided a comprehensive presentation on the current state of RTU’s digital infrastructure and information technology initiatives. The discussion covered the university’s existing systems, ongoing digital transformation efforts, and key areas where advanced technological solutions could further support RTU’s development goals.

Huawei executives welcomed the RTU delegation and shared insights on the company’s expertise in smart campus technologies, digital infrastructure, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and connectivity solutions. Both parties exchanged ideas on potential collaborative projects that could contribute to RTU’s journey toward becoming a technology-driven, innovation-centered university.
