University President Yangco Delivers State of the University Address, Outlines RTU’s Growth in 2025

“A year of success and accomplishments.”

That is how the State of the University Address (SUA) 2025 of Rizal Technological University (RTU) President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco summed up the year of Pandayang Rizalia.

The annual SUA, held on December 17 at the RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus, was attended by various University stakeholders. Several external partners in internationalization, extension programs, and cooperative education joined RTU leaders, faculty members, administrative personnel, alumni representatives, and student leaders in witnessing Dr. Yangco’s speech and celebrating the collective success of the Rizaliano community and RTU stakeholders.

In her speech, Dr. Yangco outlined the accomplishments of the University as aligned with the ACHIEVE agenda of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

She discussed RTU’s steady growth in the academic face of the University, citing the re-accreditation of several educational programs and the various triumphs of Rizaliano alumni at their respective board and certification examinations. Additionally, she also presented several accomplishments in the University’s provision of teacher education, distance education, and continuing professional development.

Further, Dr. Yangco presented updates on the university’s research initiatives, sharing the recognition received by several faculty researchers for their respective papers. She also shared RTU’s various initiatives to join and found research-focused organizations across institutions.

The SUA also touched Pandayang Rizalia’s quality and success in the Extension Services front. She enumerated significant programs conducted by faculty extensionists that had a real impact on uplifting communities. These include the University’s flagship extension program, Proyektong Kabalikat.

On the administration and governance side of RTU, Dr. Yangco proudly shared several accomplishments, including the Unmodified Opinion Audit Rating from the Commission on Audit, the satisfactory rating of the university at the Stage 2 Certification Audit for ISO 21001:2018, and RTU’s satisfactory compliance with the Ease of Doing Business Act as evident in the Nationwide Frontline Service Inspection conducted by the Anti-Red Tape Authority.

Ultimately, the University President shared significant progress in the University’s production capacity and the smooth sailing of internationalization efforts, emphasizing RTU’s Top 65 Rank in the UI Greenmetric World University Rankings 2025 among Philippine Higher Education Institutions.

Dr. Reynaldo Ramos, President of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP), also joined and congratulated Dr. Yangco and the Rizaliano community for RTU’s continued growth and ongoing triumphs. He underscored how far RTU has come, recounting that he was once part of the community as a part-time faculty member in the College of Engineering.

The conduct of the annual SUA is more than a report; it is a celebration of the collective effort of all university stakeholders towards the progress and success of Pandayang Rizalia.

“Ang mga hakbang na ito ay sumisimbolo sa isang mapagkumbabang paglalakbay ng pag-angat, pagpapayabong, at patuloy na paglilingkod,” Dr. Yangco said.
