University Officials Hone Program Assessment Capability at 27th ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance Training in Bangkok, Thailand

Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives (VPPQASI); Dr. Rome Sherriff G. Montoya, Dean of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA); and Dr. Jack Robert B. Sablan, Director of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), bring home fresh knowledge and updated insights as they complete a 4-day training on Program Assessment at the 27th ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Tier 1 Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment.

This new knowledge sets a new goal for Rizal Technological University (RTU): to enhance program assessment capabilities and quality assurance measures for program compliance and improvement.

The training, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 13-16, 2025, equipped participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure that higher education programs are aligned with the AUN-QA requirements. The participants were trained in the process and the different criteria for program assessment, ensuring that quality assurance leaders in Higher Education Institutions can drive program improvement through scholarly methods such as gap analysis.

With the expert guiding hands of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan, AUN-QA Trainer & Expert from the National University of Singapore; Dr. Yu Un Oppusunggu, AUN-QA Trainer from the Universitas Indonesia; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ornsiri Cheunsuang, AUN-QA Trainer from Chulalongkorn University, and RTU officials are set to strengthen the academic programs being offered by the University.

From ASEAN to RTU—expert knowledge and international standards are being brought back to the Rizaliano community through the efforts of Dr. Pachejo, Dr. Montoya, and Dr. Sablan.
