RTU’s 2nd Quarter Acad Council Meeting Highlights Key Approvals and Strategic Plans

 

June 27, 2024 – The Academic Council of Rizal Technological University (RTU) convened a virtual meeting via Zoom, presided over by the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, and chaired by the University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco.

The meeting was attended by key faculty members and administrators who deliberated on several important items on the agenda. The first major point of discussion was the confirmation and approval of the list of candidates for graduation for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024, presented by the Head of Student Records and Admission Unit (SRAU) Head, Ms. Ma. Del Carmen G. Labong.

Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the RTU Five-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2028). Sponsored by the Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance and Strategic Initiatives (VPQASI), Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo,  the strategic plan outlines the university’s roadmap for development and growth over the next five years. 

Additionally, the meeting saw the proposal of new capstone project guidelines for the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS), presented by the ICS Director, Dr. Lea S. Nisperos. The guidelines were designed to streamline and improve the capstone project process for students based on CMO (CHED Memorandum Order).

The meeting emphasized RTU’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in education. The collaborative efforts of the academic council and the university’s administration aim to provide the best possible educational experience for RTU students.
