On October 21, 2024, a delegation from Rizal Technological University (RTU) traveled to Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac, Ilocos Norte, for a benchmarking activity aimed at enhancing RTU’s board examination review programs. Led by Dr. Rizaldy Garcia, Director of the University Review and Related Instructions Office (URRIO), the RTU group included representatives from the University Curriculum and Instruction Office (UCIO), headed by Dr. Melvin Ambida, and the Evaluation Office, led by Associate Professor Jerico Laquesta.
The RTU delegation was warmly received by MMSU’s Officer-in-Charge President, Dr. Prima Fe R. Franco, alongside key MMSU officials and faculty members. The visit focused on MMSU’s established procedures for board exam preparation, which have been instrumental in achieving impressive licensure exam results. MMSU officials presented their comprehensive approach, which includes the development of targeted review materials, meticulous coordination of logistical support, selection of expert lecturers, and alignment of the curriculum with board exam standards.
The insights gained from this benchmarking initiative are expected to inform RTU’s curriculum enhancement and review programs, strengthening the university’s support for students preparing for professional licensure exams.
