RTU Hosts iSTAT Launch in Philippines, Marks Official Introduction of Statistical Research Tool

MANDALUYONG CITY, Philippines — Rizal Technological University (RTU) hosted the official launch of iSTAT, an emerging statistical tool designed to assist research, marking the formal introduction of iSTAT Philippines on 27 November 2025. The landmark event gathered international academic leaders, research experts, and representatives from universities across the country, highlighting the Philippines’ growing role in global research and data analytics innovation.

The historic launch was attended by the CEO and Founder of iSTAT, Dr. Kyung-sung Kim, who emphasized the platform’s vision of transforming research and statistical analysis through intelligent, user-centered technology.

Positioned as a next-generation alternative to SPSS, iSTAT is an AI-powered statistical analysis platform designed to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and researchers. Its advanced, yet accessible features aim to streamline data analysis, enhance research productivity, and support the production of globally competitive scholarly outputs.

The launch received strong institutional and thought-leadership support from Dr. Aldrin Darilag, former Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), who recognized iSTAT’s potential to strengthen evidence-based research and academic excellence in Philippine higher education. Support was likewise expressed by Prof. Sung Dong Cho, Founder of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), who underscored the platform’s alignment with innovation-driven academic ecosystems.

Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of RTU International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), represented the University during the launching.
