Rizal Technological University (RTU) successfully conducted a productive seminar on internationalization, titled “Global Pathways: Navigating Internationalization and Global Rankings” on November 28, 2024, at the Penthouse of SNAGAH Bldg. Organized by the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), the seminar aimed to provide RTU leaders with strategies to enhance internationalization initiatives and improve the university’s global ranking through a session of insightful expert-led discussion.
The program opened with welcome remarks from Mr. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of IALO, who emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering global competitiveness.
The seminar also introduced expert resource speakers: Mr. Jerome L. Duque, Director of Tarlac Agricultural University- External Linkages and International Affairs, International Rankings Secretariat and Technical Staff of the CHED- IAS National Review Committee, who discussed frameworks and best practices for internationalization, and Dr. Gaudencio Petalcorin,a member of the CHED Internationalization National Review Committee and professor at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, who shared transformative strategies for institutions aspiring to become world-class universities. Their presentations provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of global education.
Adding depth to the discussions, a panel of reactors was composed of academic leaders from RTU, including Dr. Rodrigo DP. Tomas, Dean of the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs Services; Dr. Wendelyn A. Samarita, Dean of the College of Education; and other deans, provided their insights. Their perspectives enriched the dialogue, highlighting practical approaches to overcoming challenges in the global education sector equipping participants with actionable strategies and fostering collaborations to enhance internationalization efforts.
Initiatives such as these, reflect the university’s commitment to being a globally competitive institution and provide the opportunity to equip and empower the members of the RTU community in furthering efforts in creating an RTU that shines on the global stage.
