The Extension and Community Services Office’s (ECSO) Project IGNITE (Inspire Growth, Nurture Innovation, Transform Extensions) 2.0 brought together extensionists from different colleges and institutes across the Rizal Technological University (RTU) to strengthen the skills, direction, and teamwork of faculty members involved in extension and community service. With the theme “Transforming Communities through Unified Action: Empowering Leaders to Innovate, Implement, and Inspire,” the activity was held on December 3–5, 2025, at the Upgrade Beach Resort in Infanta, Quezon.
The three-day activity served as a practical planning session, during which faculty extensionists were informed about new and updated policies, more transparent extension-related processes, and best practices for delivering community programs.
To help participants better understand the guidelines, a hands-on Workshop on Extension Planning was held. During the workshop, groups worked together to create sample extension proposals and prepare their Line Item Budgets. These outputs were in preparation for the In-house Review of extension program proposals scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
Project Ignite 2.0 concluded with participants’ commitments for the next implementation cycle. The activity not only improved the faculty’s readiness for the new CHED and ECSO requirements but also strengthened the institution’s dedication to providing meaningful, sustainable, and well-documented extension programs.
Through the guidance and activities provided during Project Ignite 2.0, faculty extensionists are now better prepared to design, implement, and evaluate community-based projects that align with both institutional goals and national standards. With this, RTU continues its mission to spark positive change and support growth in its partner communities
