Rizal Technological University (RTU) successfully concluded its three-day University-wide Blood Donation Campaign. The initiative was in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross-Rizal Chapter (PRC-Rizal), a key health industry partner, and was part of Pandayang Rizalia’s flagship extension program, “Proyektong Kabalikat: A University Blood Donation 2025.”
With the assistance of the Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO), PRC-Rizal facilitated the blood collection on October 6, 17, and 19, 2025, bringing together student volunteers, faculty, and administrative staff in a united effort to support patients in need of life-saving blood transfusions. The third day was exclusively allotted to accommodate all NSTP students who enthusiastically donated their blood, displaying that beyond the classroom, RTU’s NSTP program holistically shapes students from academic to social responsiveness.
Throughout the campaign, 94 blood bags were collected, as confirmed by the PRC-Rizal. These donations will directly benefit individuals undergoing surgical procedures, emergency treatments, and long-term medical care. The success of the drive underscores the importance of voluntary blood donation in strengthening the country’s healthcare system and ensuring that hospitals and medical facilities have access to a safe and sufficient blood supply.
The initiative also served as a platform to raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donors and each contribution’s life-changing impact. It reminded the Rizaliano community that behind every blood bag is a story of hope, recovery, and survival. Blood donors may not always witness the outcomes of their generosity, but their quiet acts of compassion ripple outward in ways that save lives and restore families.
Proyektong Kabalikat continues to be a cornerstone of Pandayang Rizalia’s public service efforts, promoting a culture of civic responsibility, volunteerism, and humanitarian engagement. By organizing meaningful programs that address real-world needs, the University reinforces its role as a proactive institution committed to the well-being of the broader community.
