The RTU-Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) participated in the Symposium on Fiscal Remedies in Procurement & Property Management, held from July 16-18, 2024, at Patio Pacific Resort in Boracay Island. The event was attended by BAC Goods and Services Vice Chairperson CAOF Rowell C. Marasigan, along with members Instr. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Dr. Omar R. Manlapas, and Infrastructure TWG members Engr. Orlando M. Echaluse and Engr. Jethro Jhames A. Jose. Organized by ALLS Management Consultants, Inc., the symposium featured lectures by Atty. Sarah Lisa A. Abella, CPA, MPA, and Atty. Raul Joseph Esparcia, CPA.
The discussion covered several key topics including fiscal remedies, with a brief review on responsibility and accountability, remedies in audit such as disallowance and relief from accountability. It also delved into property and supply management concepts and procedures, and provided an in-depth look at procurement processes. The symposium aimed to rationalize the procurement process and explored alternative methods of procurement.
