On September 2, 2025, Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), welcomed a delegation of officials and professors from Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO), Indonesia, to launch a new collaborative learning relationship between the two institutions. To kick off the newly founded partnership, the universities conducted a collaborative seminar on the importance of Financial Literacy for contemporary business education, enhancing Rizalianos’ academic knowledge on managing business finances.
The seminar further sought to cultivate responsible citizenship among the youth and empower them to actively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A key highlight was the discussion on Indonesia’s monetary policy, delivered by Dr. La Ode Suriadi, UHO’s Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. Dr. Suriadi traced the culturally rich evolution of Indonesia’s currency system following its independence from colonial rule, offering historical insights that deepened students’ understanding of the country’s economic foundations. His presentation provided RTU students with a comparative lens which examines monetary policy frameworks, inspiring them to explore innovative approaches that could inform future policy development.
After the seminar, officials conducted fruitful consultations to set up student and faculty exchange programs under RTU’s College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA). The activity facilitated the sharing of pedagogical knowledge between the two schools, promoting student competency for global competitiveness.
This IALO-led program represents a pivotal milestone in RTU’s comprehensive globalization strategy, serving as a testament to the university’s steadfast commitment to international excellence. Through strategic partnerships such as the collaboration with UHO, RTU actively enhances its mission to deliver globally competitive academic programs while fostering cross-cultural research and education opportunities for both students and faculty. This initiative not only enriches the university’s academic community but also demonstrates RTU’s dedication to equipping its community with the essential competencies and global perspectives necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world, thereby advancing the institution’s broader vision of academic internationalization.
