Rizal Technological University (RTU) honored its cream of the crop—students who exemplified Rizaliano excellence and established their place in academic and non-academic pursuits—at the 2025 Recognition Rites held on July 28, 2025, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. With the theme “A Sustainable Future through Smart, Transnational Education and Global Innovation”, the ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements of Rizalianos who were shaped by the transformative and transnational education that RTU offers.

The morning session highlighted Rizalianos, who represented the University and the nation in different non-academic competitions both locally and internationally, recognizing their talents and contributions in cementing RTU’s place in sports and performing arts. Shining the spotlight on Rizalianos who excelled academically, the afternoon session awarded recognition to students who have proven the Rizaliano excellence in various academic endeavors.

Further celebrating outstanding students, the ceremony also recognized the exceptional leadership performed by different student organizations and leaders across the university. Among them, the Supreme Student Council officers and several other organizations were lauded for their service to the Rizaliano community.

Special attention was also given to Rizalianos who are beneficiaries of various scholarship grants from various organizations, the national government, and local government units, such as the DOST-SEI Scholarship, CHED scholarship programs, Tulong Dunong Program, and Pasig City Academic Scholarship, among others.

Enriching the morning session of the ceremony, SN2 YN April B. Bermudo, an accomplished alumnus of RTU and a Philippine Navy officer, graced the ceremony to deliver a heartwarming speech to the graduating batch. She reminded her fellow Rizalianos to exemplify the virtues of nationalism, respect, filial piety, and perseverance beyond the confines of the university grounds. The proud alumnus emphasized that becoming competent and responsible members of society is the true goal.

Speaking to the academic achievers in the afternoon session, Atty. Shaila Lyn G. Guerrero, another proud alumnus and now an officer of the law as the Assisting Branch Clerk of the Supreme Court, shared her vision for the graduating batch. In her inspiring message, Atty. Guerrero encouraged the students with Latin honors to translate their academic excellence into competent and transformative public service. She challenged the Rizalianos to capitalize on their civil service eligibility and start the wave of a new brand of governance.

As the event concluded the conferment of various accolades, Pandayang Rizalia’s 54th Recognition Rites was a resounding success with more than 1400 awardees of both academic and non-academic awards. With this promising batch of graduates, the future is bright for the students and the nation that will embrace this assemblage of excellence.

As RTU continues to shape the future of its students, the University also stays true to its mandate as a state university by shaping a sustainable future for its community. By recognizing the achievements of Rizalianos, Pandayang Rizalia fosters a culture of giving credit where credit is due and continues to inspire the students to aim higher and strive harder to reach greater heights. Certainly, Rizalianos have a shining, sustainable future shaped by a smart and transnational education instilled in them by RTU.
