September 20, 2024—Rizal Technological University (RTU) has successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 certification, a testament to its dedication to maintaining excellence in its Quality Management System (QMS). Under the stewardship of Admin. Officer Ma. Lourdes R. Austria, Director of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), and Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives (VPPQASI), RTU passed a rigorous surveillance audit conducted by TUV SUD, a globally recognized certifying body. This recertification underscores the university’s continuous efforts to align with international standards, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and services.
The ISO 9001:2015 standard, known for its emphasis on a process-driven approach to quality management, ensures that organizations like RTU meet stakeholder needs while complying with regulatory requirements. The audit thoroughly examined RTU’s operational and administrative functions across various offices and units, including top management, administrative services, student services, and human resources, just to name a few.
Key academic units were also assessed, with the College of Business and Entrepreneurial Technology under Dr. Kathryn Tria and the College of Education led by Dr. Wendelyn Samarita demonstrating a commitment to RTU’s goal of continuous improvement.
This recertification not only signifies RTU’s adherence to international quality standards but also directly benefits its community by ensuring effective and efficient services. It affirms the university’s role as a leading institution in higher education, committed to innovation, social responsibility, and excellence. RTU will undergo continuous surveillance audits, further cementing its position as a beacon of educational quality in the Philippines.
