The Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) of Rizal Technological University (RTU) actively participated in the National Correctional Consciousness Week 2025, organized by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Mandaluyong (BJMP) on October 23, 2025. The event aimed to promote awareness, rehabilitation, and community involvement in support of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
In the same event, BJMP-Mandaluyong awarded a Certificate of Recognition to RTU as one of the agency’s service providers, acknowledging the university’s continuous partnership and support for the bureau’s community development. Instr. Abigail P. Mendoza, Deputy Director of ECSO, and Dr. Robelyn B. Bautista, Unit Head for Extension and Community Linkages, received the certificate on behalf of Pandayang Rizalia. This award highlights the University’s continued dedication to supporting the PDLs’ rehabilitation and efforts towards their reintegration into society.
Instr. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Director of ECSO, also served as one of the judges for the Sing and Dance Contest, an activity that highlighted the talents of the PDLs. His participation reflected RTU’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, compassion, and community engagement through service-oriented initiatives.
ECSO’s presence and active involvement in this event underscore the University’s dedication to its mission of extending educational and social responsibility beyond the campus, strengthening partnerships with government agencies, and promoting transformative community service.
