Pandayang Rizalia Secures TÜV SÜD Auditors’ Recommendation for ISO 21001:2018 Re-Certification

Rizal Technological University (RTU) has attained another major milestone in its commitment to quality education after completing TÜV SÜD’s ISO 21001:2018 First Surveillance Audit for Educational Organizations Management Systems (EOMS), where the educational management and internal processes of the University were inspected through a three-day evaluation from October 14 to 16, 2026, resulting in the university earning the auditors’ recommendation for re-certification. This achievement further confirms the efforts of the institution towards its educational practices in line with global educational standards.

Through the three-day evaluation, TÜV SÜD auditors Ms. Michelle Geli and Ms. Adorable Aguila evaluated various academic and student services offices of the university, including the College of Engineering; Institute of Human Kinetics; College of Arts and Sciences; Laboratory School; Institute of Architecture; University Curriculum and Instruction Office; University Registrar’s Office; Counselling, Assessment, and Wellness Office; University Library and Technology Resource Office;  Institute of Flexible Learning and Digital Education; Cooperative Education Office; and Cultural Affairs Office.

The auditors also inspected several administrative offices such as the Human Resource Management and Development Office; Management Information Systems Office; and the Safety, Security, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Unit. The Research Management Office; Extension and Community Services Offices; and Gender Studies and Development Office also welcomed the auditors to evaluate the research and extension processes and programs of RTU.

Over the three days, they reviewed a broad range of operations, including top management governance, internal audit procedures, academic program delivery, student admissions, counseling services, research and extension offices, human resources, and facility management. For completeness of the verification, the auditors also visited classes randomly where students were interviewed for their honest impression of the university’s services and processes.

The result of the evaluation was presented during the closing program, revealing that no major non-conformities were found across the reviewed, assessed, and audited areas. Furthermore, TÜV SÜD formally recommended RTU for certificate issuance as all essential requirements of the ISO 21001:2018 standard were satisfied.

As they continue to raise the bar for the university community, RTU’s leaders, faculty, and support teams’ collaborative efforts, dedication, and teamwork are evident in this success. The inspection and its positive results are a reflection of the university’s unwavering commitment to international standards and enhanced processes and services.
