RTU-IIT Visits Bataan Peninsula University as Prep for Future BIndTech Program Offering

Select delegates from the Institute of Industrial Technology (IIT) of Rizal Technological University (RTU), led by the University President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco and IIT Director Dr. Nilmar Moreno, visited the College of Industrial Technology of Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU-CIT) in a benchmarking activity, gaining valuable insights and identifying best practices that could contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of RTU’s own Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIndTech) program for future offering.

Held on May 13, 2026, the benchmarking activity was conducted through a coordination meeting and an institutional visit with the faculty members and administrators of the BPSU-CIT, led by Dr. Ruby Santos-Matibag, who warmly welcomed the RTU delegation.

During the activity, the host institution presented the development and implementation of its BIndTech program. Discussions focused on curriculum design, program management, internship programs, and laboratory facilities.

Dr. Rowena B. Valerio shared insights on curriculum development, program administration, and facility management, while Dr. Bernadeth Gabor discussed the institution’s best practices in extension programs. In addition, Dr. Eduardo Santos facilitated a guided tour of the laboratories, learning facilities, IPO facilities, and DreamLand to showcase the university’s resources and learning environment.

Through these discussions, the RTU delegation gained valuable insights and a solid understanding of how the program aligns with national standards, industry demands, and current trends in industrial technology education.

As the societal need for more professionals in Industrial Technology grows, RTU answers the call as it ramps up its preparations for its own BIndTech program, staying true to the University’s mission to produce competent and socially responsible professionals.

The benchmarking activity stands as a testament to RTU’s ongoing effort to improve its academic offerings to respond to the ever-changing needs of societal progress.
