Rizal Technological University (RTU) congratulates its researchers, Klarisse Fei T. Santos and John Steve Naval, for receiving the Best Patent Mining Search Report award during the Patent Mining Training Workshop and Mentorship Program for RAISE Batch 1 Southern Tagalog Region under the SOUTH Mentorship Series Year 2.

The program was held from July 7 to 9, 2026, at the Cavite State University-Main Campus and was conducted under the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Southern Tagalog, in collaboration with the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic, and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC).

Klarisse Fei T. Santos and John Steve Naval of RTU’s Technology Development, Transfer, and Commercialization Unit participated in the lectures, hands-on search activities, mentorship sessions, and output presentations. The three-day training covered patent mining, patent analytics, patent search strategies, technology categorization, and preparing patent mining search reports. 

At the conclusion of the program, the RTU participants distinguished themselves by receiving the Best Patent Mining Search Report award. The recognition highlights their strong performance in applying patent search strategies, analyzing patent information, and preparing a comprehensive patent-mining report.

The award reflects RTU’s continuing efforts to strengthen intellectual property awareness, technology protection, and innovation support among its researchers, personnel, and partner communities.
