RTU, Mandaluyong Congressional Office Renew Partnership to Expand Youth, Employment, and Women’s Programs

The Rizal Technological University and the Office of the Representative of the Lone District of Mandaluyong City renewed their Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on February 16, 2026, at the congressional office in Mandaluyong City, strengthening their collaboration to deliver community-centered programs for residents.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President, and Alexandria “Queenie” Pahati-Gonzales, Congresswoman of the Lone District of Mandaluyong City. Witnesses to the signing included Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services; Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Director of the Extension and Community Services Office; and Elizabeth Grace F. Cruz, Chief of Staff of the congressional office.

The renewed partnership continues the implementation of RTU CARES (Community Advancement, Reskilling, and Educational Support), the university’s institutional extension program that provides education, skills development, health initiatives, digital empowerment, and environmental awareness activities for the people of Mandaluyong City.

Among the priority activities under the agreement is the Internship Fair – Bridging the Gap Between Students and Real Jobs, which will connect students with companies and institutions offering internships and employment opportunities to help them gain practical work experience and improve employability.

The partners will also conduct a Youth Symposium on Readiness for Adult Life, a learning forum that will guide young people as they transition into adulthood. The symposium will cover career preparation, financial responsibility, mental wellness, and decision-making skills.

In celebration of Women’s Month, a Women’s Health Program will be implemented to provide wellness education, basic health services, and awareness activities focused on women’s well-being.

Through the renewed agreement, both institutions reaffirm their shared commitment to bring university expertise and public service programs closer to the community, supporting inclusive and sustainable development in Mandaluyong City.
