PRC Board Member Leads Program Inspection and Monitoring of RTU’s Accountancy Program

Mandaluyong City, Philippines – The Rizal Technological University (RTU) College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA) welcomed a delegation from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on August 1, 2025, for a physical inspection and monitoring of its Accountancy Program. The visit to the Mandaluyong Main Campus aimed to evaluate the program’s curriculum and overall effectiveness in preparing future Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

The program began with warm, welcoming remarks from Instr. Noel G. Tubice, Program Head of the CBEA Accountancy Department. This was followed by an inspirational message from Dr. Marc DG. Garvida, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), stated, “This evaluation is not merely a requirement but is also shared as an opportunity for growth. It reaffirms our mission to produce globally competitive and ethically grounded accountants.”

Leading the inspection were distinguished guests from the PRC: Hon. Gloria T. Baysa, a member of the PRC Regulatory Board for Accountancy, and Ms. Merly M. Gabon, a PRC representative. They were joined by key RTU officials, including CAOF. Rowell C. Marasigan, Chief Finance Officer of the Financial Management Services Office (FMSO); Asst. Prof. Macrina Violeta V. Mutuc, Director of the Internal Audit Services Office, Instr. Noel G. Tubice, CPA, Program Head of the CBEA Accountancy Department, and Accountant Januar Y. Realiza.

Dr. Baysa shared her extensive expertise during the inspection and provided valuable insights to the RTU Accounting faculty. She outlined strategic recommendations for improving the CBEA Accounting curriculum, with a dual focus on increasing the number of board passers in the CPA Licensure Examination and enhancing the employability rate of the program’s graduates. Her guidance aimed to ensure the curriculum is not only academically rigorous but also aligned with the current demands of the accounting profession.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Rome Sherriff G. Montoya, Dean of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), who expressed full support for the activity. He remarked, “May this inspection be a strong affirmation of our commitment to our academic integrity, continued improvement & student success.”
