RTU x Isabela State University-Ilagan Campus Exchange Expertise in Instructional Technology and Technical Vocational Instruction

July 9, 2025– The Rizal Technological University (RTU) College of Education (CEd) and Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus (ISU-IC) conducted a benchmarking activity to RTU’s Master of Arts in Instructional Technology (MAIT) Graduate Program and the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd)  Undergraduate program.

The ISU-IC team, composed of the Dean of College of Education, Engr. Freddie O. Orperia, and Mr. Riverson Barroga, the BTVTEd Program Head, made an effort to benchmark both the graduate program, particularly the MAIT graduate program of the RTU – CEd, under the deanship of Dr. Wendelyn A. Samarita, Dr. Nilmar I. Moreno, chairman of the Curriculum Review Committee, and Instr. Angeline Villareal, the Department Head of RTU-CED’s BTVTED program, also joined the activity and provided valuable insights into the design and implementation of their programs. The discussions aimed to share best practices in curriculum development, faculty expertise, student support services, and program outcomes, particularly for the MAIT graduate program and the BTVTED undergraduate program.

This collaborative initiative serves as a clear demonstration of RTU’s “Pandayang Rizalia” ethos – a commitment to leading by example and continuously setting a high bar for the development and implementation of high-quality, standardized graduate and undergraduate programs. These programs are crucial for equipping future educators with the advanced skills and knowledge necessary to meet the evolving demands of the education sector.
