Taiwan’s National Formosa University Representatives Visit RTU to Promote Study Programs

The Vice President of International Affairs, Prof. Li-Wei Chen of National Formosa University (NFU) in Taiwan, and Ms. Hannah Hsu, coordinator of NFU for the  International Affairs visited Rizal Technological University to present NFU’s study programs to eager students and faculty.

The visit began with a courtesy call on RTU President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, where discussions centered on strengthening academic ties between the two institutions. Following the meeting, Prof. Chen and Ms. Hannah met around 200 engineering students for an information session.

Prof. Chen shared insights about NFU’s diverse academic programs, research opportunities, and the vibrant campus life that awaits students who choose to study in Taiwan. Students were encouraged to consider NFU a viable option for their academic pursuits abroad.

The event not only served to inform students about NFU’s offerings but also aimed to inspire them to broaden their horizons through international education, as the world becomes increasingly interconnected and opportunities for cross-cultural exchange become essential for student development.

The session also saw the participation of RTU Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Dr. Corleto Bravo, Dean of the College of Engineering, and various department heads. This gathering highlighted the collaborative spirit of both universities, focusing on the potential for academic exchange and international cooperation.

Mr. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of International Affairs at RTU, played a key role in organizing the event. He emphasized the importance of such partnerships in providing students with global educational opportunities.

Both universities expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations, underscoring their commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students in both Taiwan and the Philippines.
