Objectives

  2. To engage in innovative research and extension activities through application of technology that will improve the quality of life;
  3. To maintain efficient and effective communication among stakeholders for enhanced performance of internal administrative and institutional support structures;
  4. To continuously review and monitor the performance of the University structures through an effective by integrating feedback mechanism; and
  5. To ensure customer satisfaction by integrating risk-based thinking approach in all services provided.

Institutional OBE Framework

The RTU OBE framework focuses on the continuous improvement of the following four areas of programs namely:
1) Need, Opportunities and Rationale of objectives, and Learning Environment (Context Evaluation),
2) Admission/Student, Program Educational Objectives, Program Graduate Outcomes, Learning Outcomes, Learning Outputs, Curriculum design, Teaching and learning strategy/activity, Faculty, Support Staff, Staff development activities, Institutional support, and Facilities and infrastructure (Input Evaluation),
3) Quality Assurance, Student assessment and development, advice, and support system (Process Evaluation)
4) Graduate (Product Evaluation).

Moving through these four areas, programs can identify the important components to assess and revise.

Academic Excellence

A graduate demonstrates understanding and mastery of the fundamental knowledge and skills required for effective professional practice in the field of specialization; identifies, retrieves, evaluates and applies relevant information and current technologies to advance the understanding; solves problems and completes work tasks creatively; conducts and applies research results to enhance knowledge and improve practices; and has the knowledge and skills of the effective execution of tasks.

Communication Skills

A graduate is skilled and practiced in spoken, visual and written communication, and demonstrates effective listening skills as well as numerical, technical and graphic communication skills. Also knows how to communicate effectively and sensitively in inter-generational and other cultural context (Global). A graduate communicates fluently using the mother tongue, English, and other languages and articulates complex ideas with respect to the needs and abilities of diverse audiences.

Creative and Analytical Thinking Skills

A graduate utilizes analytical thinking skills in different contexts; employs problem solving skills to resolve issues; thinks creatively to generate new ideas; and uses critical thinking skills to formulate alternative approaches that contribute to innovate outcomes. A graduate conceives of imaginative and innovative response to challenges and anticipates future demands.

A graduate is a learner and self-developer, committed to improving and updating his personal and inter-personal skills, who is capable of learning from experiences and honing his personal attributes and capabilities for a more productive endeavor. He is highly competent in the use of technology applications and programs for nation building.

A graduate is a lifelong learner committed to and capable of continuous learning and reflection for the purpose of furthering understanding of the world and his place in it. A graduate of the University is a global citizen who aspires to contribute to a society in a full and meaningful way though his role as member of local, national, and global communities.

A graduate is a skilled and practiced team-worker, understands the processes of and has developed a capacity for effective collaboration and cooperation with agreed framework, including the demands of inter-generational, gender, and cross-cultural sensitivity, mutual respect for others, conflict reduction and the negotiation of constructive and productive results. A graduate can take control and lead a team effectively, sensitively and constructively demonstrates initiative and taking action and engaging others towards achieving a common goal.

Job Skills

A graduate understands the chief theoretical and technical concepts of his discipline and places these in their contexts. He demonstrated the understanding and learning skills that enable ongoing improvement on both professional and personal development. His knowledge and skills as well as his competence meet the requirement of his job in the industry
