RTUians Immerse in Foreign Culture and Learning in Malaysia

Fifteen students from Rizal Technological University (RTU) participated in a week-long immersion program at INTI International University, Malaysia from October 26 to November 2, 2024. The program, supervised by faculty members Instr. Cyrille Anne Rafael and Instr. Kyle Nicole F. Alcantara, along with Mr. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office, offered a mix of academic and cultural activities designed to promote global learning and cultural exchange.

The students engaged in various workshops, including sessions on Bahasa Melayu, concrete sculpture, and the Sustainable Development Goals. They also participated in an introduction to physiotherapy and explored Malaysia’s cultural heritage through traditional music classes, games, and trips to iconic locations such as Malacca, Putrajaya, Pasar Seni, and the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

In addition to academic enrichment, the program provided opportunities for cultural immersion, such as a visit to a night market, where students experienced local street food and vibrant market life. The experience not only broadened their global perspective but also strengthened ties between RTU and INTI International University, showcasing the value of international academic partnerships.

The students and faculty expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of such programs in fostering cultural understanding and interdisciplinary learning.
