Reinforcing its commitment to efficient and standardized information management, representatives from Rizal Technological University (RTU) participated in the “RM 101: Records Management for Newbies” training organized by the Philippine Records Management Association (PRMA) from June 24 to 26, 2025, at the Citystate Asturias Hotel, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
The RTU delegation was composed of Mr. Michael Yap, OIC-Director of the Records Management Office (RMO); Mr. Paolo Gaspar, Deputy Director; and Instr. Susan Vargas, Head of the Records Management Section at the RTU Pasig Branch.
The three-day training tackled essential components of modern records management, including ISO standards and compliance, records creation and maintenance, records disposition, and document security. Sessions were led by PRMA board members and recognized industry experts such as Gwen Marie Judy Samontina, Allyson Calapine, Apolonia Talatala, Teofila Mendoza, and Rosalie Escobin.
RTU’s active participation in the training highlights the University’s continued efforts to professionalize its records management practices, enhance institutional transparency, and align with national and international standards in information governance.
