The graduating batch of 2024 prepares to board on their professional journeys through a career orientation program titled “Setting Sail: Charting Your Course Towards Success,” organized by the Student and Alumni Affairs Services Unit (SAASU), held from May 28–31 (for Mandaluyong Campus) and June 13–14, 2024 (for Pasig Campus).
With active involvement from student volunteers, this event aims to bridge the gap between academic life and the professional world. Graduating students who complete the program are expected to be prepared for the challenges and opportunities that await them once they enter the corporate world.
Highlights of the orientation include a series of insightful talks by esteemed speakers. Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), set the tone with her opening remarks, followed by a series of orientation talks by Instr. Mariel A. Dela Trinidad, the Head of the Student and Alumni Affairs Services Unit. Instr. Dela Trinidad discussed the connections offered by SAASU and provided career preparatory advice.
Ms. Maricar Labong, Head of the Student Records and Admission Unit (SRAU), guided the students on credential requests. Dr. Corazon Austria, Branch Director of Rizal Technological University, offered detailed information from the college host, and Ms. Christine L. Baliza, Committee Chairperson of the RTU Grand Alumni Association, Inc. (GAAI), shared insights about the alumni association. Atty. Abdol Bryan Barte, an RTU Alumni Regent, delivered an inspirational talk, and Dr. Marc DG Garvida, Dean of the Office of Student and Alumni Services (OSAAS), closed the event with his remarks.
