Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — Three faculty researchers from Rizal Technological University (RTU) were recognized for their outstanding contributions to research and development management during the 6th International Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Management Congress held on March 18–20, 2025, at the Saigon Business School.
The team composed of Prof. Cheryl Lyn C. Ayuste, Deputy Director of the Research Development and Innovation Office (RDIO); Dr. Ryan Manuel D. Guido, RDIO Director; and Prof. Jason B. Kalaw, Head of the Center for Astronomy Research and Development, along with Prof. Richard E. Nepomuceno from Southern Luzon State University, received the Best RDE Management Paper Award for their paper titled “The Evolving Global Landscapes of Research and Development Management: A Scientometric Investigation.” The award recognizes research excellence in the field of R&D management, particularly studies that explore internationalization as a key pathway for growth and innovation.
In addition to the Best Paper award, the research group was also conferred the Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta Internationalization Award, an honor given to papers that exemplify global research perspectives.
The awarding ceremony was part of the annual congress organized by the Philippine Association of Research Managers, Inc. (PHILARM), which aims to highlight best practices, innovative frameworks, and impactful studies in the field of RDE management. It was attended by academic leaders, researchers, and development practitioners from different countries, further emphasizing the significance of the RTU team’s achievements on the global stage.
