Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) Research Publication Unit (RPU), led by Dr. Ruby Ann Dela Cruz, together with ‘The Rizalian Review’ Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Ryan Manuel Guido, welcomed the newly appointed in-house reviewers of The Rizalian Ventures through a specialized training and orientation conducted on September 3, 2025, at the R&D Building of RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus.
The training focused on equipping the faculty reviewers from the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), led by CBEA Dean Dr. Rome Sherriff Montoya, with essential knowledge and practical skills to strengthen the capabilities of the reviewers to produce research manuscripts that meet global publication standards aligned with Scopus-indexed journals.
It highlighted two key areas of development: the orientation on the Research Publication Process, Certificate of Similarity Check Issuance, and Editorial Workflow delivered by Mr. Andrei V. Bibaoco, Research Analyst I, and Ms. Alphagen Pajo, Research Assistant II, and a lecture on the Fundamentals of LaTeX for Research Writing delivered by Mr. Marc Edzel Danao, Research Assistant II. The session covers manuscript preparation, journal selection, submission protocols, peer review guidelines, editorial responsibilities, publication ethics, and qualifications for editorial roles.
Assisted by the Unit Intern, Mr. John Michael Boglosa, the CBEA faculty reviewers were also introduced to the basic document structures, commands, and environments, alongside practical applications such as creating sections, figures, tables, references, inserting equations, handling bibliographies, and troubleshooting common formatting errors.
The initiative was supported by Asst. Prof. John Eric Estrellado, Director of the Research, Development, and Innovation Office (RDIO), and Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES). It reflects RTU’s mandate to promote research excellence and advance studies in its areas of specialization.
Guided by the University’s mission to produce competent and socially responsible professionals through high-impact research and its vision of becoming a smart and transnational university, RTU continues to nurture the creative and intellectual potentials of its academic community.
