RTU Participates in the Technical Budget Hearing of Tier 2 Proposals for FY 2027

Rizal Technological University (RTU) actively participated in the Technical Budget Hearing of Tier 2 Budget Proposals for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Budget Preparation, on April 13, 2027 at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Central Office, presenting strategic initiatives towards RTU’s institutional goals.

The hearing was spearheaded by the DBM–National Capital Region (NCR), under the leadership of Director IV Ruby P. Muro, together with Director III Joseph Cicero-Sy and the DBM Budget Specialists, who facilitated the evaluation and technical review of the University’s proposed priority programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) under Tier 2.

Representing RTU was a delegation of key officials headed by Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut, Vice President for Finance and Administration, alongside AO Lorilyn V. Ello, Director of the Budget Management Office, Dr. Ella D. Aragon, Director of the Planning Office, AO Shaira Marie P. Rona, Incoming Director of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), and Acct. Januar Y. Realiza, Officer-in-Charge of the Accounting Office.

During the hearing, RTU presented and justified its Tier 2 proposals, which are primarily focused on strategic initiatives requiring additional funding support beyond the Tier 1 baseline. These proposals are aligned with the University’s vision of becoming a smart and transnational university, emphasizing institutional development, quality education, research advancement, and strengthened administrative systems.

The engagement served as a critical platform for ensuring that RTU’s proposed programs are responsive, feasible, and aligned with national government priorities, while also meeting the standards set by DBM for funding consideration.

RTU remains steadfast in its commitment to fiscal discipline, strategic planning, and results-oriented budgeting, ensuring that all proposed initiatives contribute to inclusive growth, academic excellence, and sustainable institutional development.

This participation underscores the University’s proactive approach in securing the necessary resources to continuously enhance its services to the Rizaliano community and further elevate its role in national development.
