The Rizal Technological University conducted a flag-raising ceremony themed “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain” on February 12, 2024, at 7:30 a.m. at RTU Boni Quadrangle, hosted by the Office of the Students and Alumni Affairs Services (OSAAS). The University administrators, professors, staff, the Himig Rizalia, and students from various academic departments participated in the ceremony.
Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, the esteemed President of RTU, delivered a passionate address, praising the Filipino passion for infusing artistry into everyday life. With the encouragement of “Tangkilikin ang Sariling Atin”, Dr. Yangco underscored the significance of embracing indigenous creativity and craftsmanship.
The ceremony also commemorated the festive occasion of Chinese New Year. The Cultural Affairs Unit headed by Asst. Prof. Julian Santos, exhibited a Chinese Dragon dance that captivated the RTU community, marking a historic first for the university.
