RTU Officials Attend Pasig’s State of the City Address 2024

Pasig City, October 14, 2024 — Rizal Technological University (RTU) actively participated in the highly anticipated State of the City Address (SOCA) 2024, delivered by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. Representing RTU at the event were Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, University President, and Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES).

Held at Rizal High School, the SOCA provided a comprehensive overview of the city’s achievements over the past year, focusing on key areas such as healthcare, housing, education, governance, public services, and infrastructure development. Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Sotto emphasized programs that have significantly improved the quality of life in the city, particularly those centered on ensuring public health, providing inclusive housing, and delivering accessible, high-quality education for Pasigueños.

In addition to Mayor Sotto’s report, Lone District Representative Roman Romulo and Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski also shared the key projects and initiatives undertaken by their respective offices.

Dr. Yangco and Dr. Quendangan’s attendance shows RTU’s commitment to staying engaged with local government initiatives that align with the university’s mission of community development and academic excellence. Both officials expressed support for the city’s progressive vision and look forward to deeper collaboration between RTU and the local government, especially in educational programs that will benefit both the university and the broader Pasig community.
