RTU Joins MMIERDC to Strengthen Research Governance Across Institutions in the Metro

Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its Research, Development, and Innovation Office (RDIO), actively participated in the  Metro Manila Industry and Energy Research and Development Consortium (MMIERDC) Membership and Policy Review Committee (MPRC) Meeting held on May 21, 2026, at the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST).

 

The meeting gathered representatives from member institutions and partner agencies to discuss key policy and operational matters concerning the consortium. Among the major agenda items tackled were the clarification and definition of the Membership and Policy Review Committee’s duties and functions, the review of the Consortium’s 2026 Workplan, and the updating of the MMIERDC Manual of Operations to further strengthen collaborative research governance across Metro Manila institutions.

 

Representing RTU in the meeting were Assoc. Prof. John Eric O. Estrellado, RDIO Director; Engr. Joven Baltazar, Head of the Research Services; and Mr. Jaymar Pascua, RDIO Technical Assistant.

 

The activity was organized by the Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) and was presided over by Engr. Jerome M. Saltorio, OIC Director for Research of EARIST and Chair of the MMIERDC Membership Committee.

 

Through its participation in the consortium meeting, RTU continues to strengthen its engagement with regional research and development networks aimed at enhancing institutional policies, collaborative initiatives, and research utilization in the fields of industry, energy, and emerging technologies.
