Rizal Technological University (RTU) participated in Global Festa Japan 2024 as the official academic partner of Enchild, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting education in developing countries. The event was held from September 28-29, with RTU represented by Asst. Prof. John Eric O. Estrellado, Director of the RTU Public Affairs Office. Estrellado expressed deep admiration for Enchild’s mission during the virtual session held on September 29, Sunday, at 9:30 AM Philippine time.
Joining the virtual conference were key figures from Enchild, including Mr. Takanori Todate, Chairman and Founder, Tsutomu Tsimada from the Enchild Secretariat, Ms. Alma Priel Dela Torre, Enchild’s Philippine Coordinator, along with several scholars and sponsors. They discussed the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide scholarships, educational materials, and support to children in need, particularly those facing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure or poverty.
The 33rd Global Festa Japan is recognized as one of Japan’s largest international cooperation events, drawing in both public and private organizations involved in social contribution activities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the physical event held at Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, this year’s festival, which marked the 70th anniversary of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA), was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation to enhance global awareness and foster international cooperation.
RTU has been an active partner of Enchild for several years, frequently co-hosting events for students and Japanese sponsors. This partnership is also part of RTU’s extension programs aimed at benefiting the community, reinforcing their commitment to education and social development.
