RTU IFLDE Ramps Up Digital Education Integration; Conducts e-RTU Training for Faculty Members

As one with Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) core values of innovation and excellence, the Institute of Flexible Learning and Digital Education (IFLDE) has intensified its implementation of the University’s official Learning Management System (LMS), e-RTU.

Through a comprehensive training program titled “e-RTU Training: Enhancing Digital Learning through Effective Course Management”, various faculty members from across the different colleges and institutes within RTU were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate the LMS and integrate it in their teaching procedures.

Conducted on October 1-3, 2025, at the SNAGAH Bldg. Penthouse, the training program was organized under the direction of Dr. Faith Micah Balbin, Director of IFLDE, and in partnership with moodLearning, Inc. It featured the expert guidance of moodLearning representatives, Ms. Maria Louisa Nocido, Mr. Reuben Dominic Palabasan, and Mr. Julius Geoffrey Almazan, who helped the faculty members navigate the platform. MoodLearning, Inc. is the company behind the successful e-learning platform Moodle and is currently an institutional partner, providing the server for e-RTU.

The training also received the overwhelming support of the University’s administration. Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), officially opened the program with her welcoming remarks, underscoring that e-RTU’s integration in teaching will elevate the excellence of Pandayang Rizalia’s academic prowess. The University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, also attended the event and delivered a message expressing her support for IFLDE’s initiative. She expressed her gratitude to IFLDE for organizing a program that empowers the university’s academic workforce. She also encouraged the participating teachers to utilize e-RTU to ensure the continuity of learning, especially during weather disturbances and class disruptions.

In line with the recent developments in curriculum design, the improvements and implementation of e-RTU as a learning management tool ensure RTU’s continued provision of quality higher education despite the VUCADD (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, diverse, and disruptive) world. Equipping the faculty members of Pandayang Rizalia with the skills to manage learning digitally maintains the University’s position as an excellent educational institution.

Through IFLDE’s initiative and efforts, both students and faculty can now access learning resources smoothly wherever they are.
