RTU Hosts Strategic Coordination Meeting with Department of Migrant Workers

MANDALUYONG CITY—Rizal Technological University (RTU) strengthened its commitment to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families by hosting a courtesy visit and coordination meeting with the Department of Migrant Workers—National Capital Region (DMW-NCR) on September 16, 2025, at the RTU Office of the President—Conference Room.

The meeting was attended by key officials from both institutions, demonstrating the collaborative effort to enhance programs and services for the migrant worker community.

Regional Director Atty. Falconi Millar led the DMW-NCR delegation, along with Chief Genevieve C. Aguilar-Ardiente, Atty. Fahan T. Jumdain, Ms. Angelica Pogoy, and Ms. Diana Mae dela Cruz, representing the Migrant Workers Protection Division and Welfare Reintegration Division of the department.

RTU representatives included the University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, and the ECSO Director, Instr. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Head of Extension and Community Linkages Unit-ECSO, Dr. Robelyn B. Bautista, University Extension Associate I, Mr. Clifford Jay R. Alar from the Community Program Development and Outreach Services Unit-ECSO, Cooperative Education Office (COE) Director Engr. Armando P. Matias, and Head of Student and Alumni Services Unit (SAASU) Instr. Mariel A. Dela Trinidad.

The meeting focused on discussing comprehensive programs and services designed to benefit OFWs and their families, including plans to conduct an Anti-illegal recruitment and Trafficking Campaign, and reinforcing the university’s commitment to community development and supporting the Filipino diaspora.

This partnership initiative aligns with RTU’s mission to extend educational and community services beyond traditional academic boundaries, particularly in supporting the welfare and development needs of overseas Filipino workers and their dependents.
