RTU Hosts Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia for P2A Academic and Cultural Exchange Program on Psychology

Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), hosted a five-day academic and cultural exchange program with Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) from October 27 to 31, 2025. The program, which focused on the Psychology discipline, is an offshoot of the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Cooperation. This regional initiative promotes cross-border academic collaboration and cultural understanding among ASEAN higher education institutions.

The Atma Jaya delegation, composed of nine Psychology students and two faculty members, was led by Dr. Rafael Bagaskoro Abimanyu and Dr. Christ Billy Aryanto. Over the course of five days, the group will be engaged in a series of lectures, workshops, and cultural activities designed to deepen their academic and intercultural experiences.

Representing RTU are four faculty members from the Department of Psychology, led by Instr. Iris Cristelle Destura, Program Head of the Psychology Department, facilitated academic exchanges and joint learning sessions with the visiting delegation. The program also received support from officers of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), underscoring the university’s commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and global engagement.

The cultural exchange activities included classroom observations, institutional visits, psychology-focused discussions, and cultural immersion tours around Metro Manila. These experiences will enable both Filipino and Indonesian participants to gain valuable insights into diverse academic practices and cultural traditions, strengthening mutual respect and understanding between the two institutions.

According to  Instr. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of IALO, this collaboration highlights RTU’s active participation in the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) network, reaffirming its dedication to promoting internationalization, intercultural learning, and academic excellence.

This exchange marks another milestone in RTU’s growing list of international partnerships, further solidifying the university’s position as a center for global learning, innovation, and ASEAN cooperation.
