RTU Elevates Students’ Data Science Knowledge and Research Application through Online Training

The Research Development and Innovation Office (RDIO) successfully conducted a Data Science Training for Students (DS³) on October 15, 2025, via Zoom, with Rizalianos participating from various colleges and institutes of Rizal Technological University (RTU).

The training, organized by the Data Science and Smart Analytics Research Unit (DSSARU) headed by Dr. Ryan Manuel Guido, aimed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and applications of Data Science. This initiative sought to strengthen students’ analytical and technical competencies, particularly in preparation for their research endeavors and undergraduate theses.

Students from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA), College of Education (CED), College of Engineering (CENG), Institute of Architecture (IA), Institute of Computer Studies (ICS), Institute of Industrial Technology (IIT), and Institute of Human Kinetics (IHK) actively participated in the training.

The program featured Mr. John Tristhan Exequiel G. Dominguez, who discussed Introduction to Data Science, followed by Mr. Andrei V. Bibaoco with a lecture on Application of Data Science. With their discussions, Rizaliano students gained invaluable experience and knowledge to aid their research studies.

Through this initiative, RTU continues to advance its commitment in nurturing research-oriented, data-literate, and innovation-driven students prepared to thrive in an increasingly digital and information-based world.
