Rizal Technological University (RTU) formally concluded the 2026 Accreditation Survey Visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) through an online Closing Program held on May 7, 2026.
The three-day evaluation covered four academic programs: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Master of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship. The survey visit formed part of the University’s continuing commitment to institutional quality assurance and academic excellence.
AACCUP accreditation serves as a recognized external quality assurance mechanism for state universities and colleges in the Philippines. During the accreditation process, academic programs are evaluated against established standards for instruction, research, faculty qualifications, student support services, library resources, extension initiatives, and physical facilities. The process aims to ensure that higher education institutions maintain standards aligned with national expectations for academic quality and institutional effectiveness.
The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering programs underwent their fourth survey visit, demonstrating sustained compliance with accreditation standards across multiple evaluation cycles. Meanwhile, the Master of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship programs completed their third survey visit, demonstrating the University’s continued investment in strengthening graduate and business education.
During the Closing Program, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr. of Iloilo Science and Technology University, serving as Overall Coordinator, presented the accrediting team’s general impressions following the comprehensive evaluation. The survey visit was conducted by a panel of accreditors from various state universities and colleges, each with expertise in engineering, information technology, and business education.
The program also included the recognition of participating accreditors and the delivery of closing remarks by Dr. Jack Robert B. Sablan, Officer-in-Charge/Director of the Quality Assurance Office. University officials, faculty members, and program representatives likewise participated in the proceedings.
The completion of the survey visit reflects RTU’s continuing efforts to strengthen academic quality, institutional accountability, and continuous improvement. The accreditation process further supports the University’s mandate to provide responsive, relevant, and outcomes-based higher education in service of national development.
