RTU Clinches First Place at 34th SCUAA NCR Games

Rizal Technological University (RTU) showcased outstanding athletic prowess by securing first place  (runner-up) at the 34th State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) National Capital Region (NCR) Games. The prestigious sporting event, hosted by Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), took place from November 17 to December 14, 2024, under the theme “Iskolar at Atletang NCR, Kaagapay Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

With this impressive victory, RTU now sets its sights on the National SCUAA Championships, scheduled to be held in Camiguin Island from April 22 to 26, 2025. This event will serve as a proving ground for the university’s top athletes, some of whom will also have the honor of representing SCUAA Philippines in an international competition in Malaysia—a major milestone for RTU’s athletic program.

Adding to the university’s growing reputation in collegiate sports, RTU was officially named the host institution for the upcoming 35th SCUAA NCR Games in November 2025. During a ceremonial turnover, RTU was represented by the Sports Development Unit (SDU) Head Mr. Arden Mark Santos, and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, on behalf of University President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco.

RTU’s dominant performance at the SCUAA NCR Games cements its status as a rising powerhouse in collegiate athletics, setting a strong foundation for future national and international competitions.
