RTU Celebrates Excellence at the 2024 Testimonial Dinner for Board Passers and Topnotchers

RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus, November 23, 2024 – Rizal Technological University (RTU) proudly hosted its 2024 Testimonial Dinner, honoring the outstanding achievements of its graduates, particularly board topnotchers and licensure exam passers. This special event brought together successful board exam passers, faculty, and administrators in a celebration that highlighted RTU’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence and professional achievement.

The evening opened with inspiring remarks from Dr. Rizaldy E. Garcia, Director of the University Review and Related Instructions Office (URRIO), who reflected on the university’s enduring mission to empower students to excel academically and become responsible leaders of the community as licensed professionals.

Throughout the evening, key university leaders shared messages of support and encouragement. Speakers included Dr. Hiene Roy Barcelona, Faculty Regent; Atty. Abdol Bryan Barte, RTU-GAAI Alumni Regent; Dr. Corazon D. Austria, Chancellor of RTU Pasig Branch; Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES); and Dr. Salvacion J. Pachejo, Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Initiatives (VPPQASI). Their heartfelt messages emphasized the university community’s collective pride and challenged graduates to continue striving for excellence in their chosen fields.

University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, delivered a powerful and motivational speech, congratulating all the honorees and reminding them that they are the pride of RTU. She encouraged the graduates to use their professions as platforms to serve others and bring about positive transformation, not just within the university but in society as a whole.

Engr. John Paul Grayda, an RTU Electrical Engineering topnotcher, served as the keynote speaker. He captivated the audience with his inspiring journey from a dedicated student to achieving national recognition. Engr. Grayda shared heartfelt stories from his student days, highlighting the challenges he overcame and the motivations that fueled his success. He provided valuable insights and a structured system for achieving goals, encouraging graduates to never give up and to continue their educational pursuits to excel further in the corporate world. His message emphasized perseverance, continuous learning, and the importance of hard work.

RTUian board topnotchers from various programs shared moving testimonies, expressing their deep gratitude to the university and mentors. Their reflections served as powerful reminders of the collective effort and support behind their achievements.

Moreover, a symbolic toast highlighted the university’s pride in its graduates, celebrating their success and affirming RTU’s role in their accomplishments. Certificates of recognition were presented to topnotchers and licensure exam passers by deans, directors, and academic leaders. Additionally, a special tribute honored faculty members who played a pivotal role in the graduates’ success.

The candle-lighting ceremony, led by the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, symbolized the graduates’ commitment to carrying RTU’s values and knowledge into their future endeavors.
