RTU CEA Hosts Professional Regulatory Board Inspection

Rizal Technological University (RTU) College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) under the leadership of Engr. Corleto Bravo, the College Dean, played host to a significant visit on February 8, 2024, as the members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Civil Engineers visited the university.

Hon. Romeo A. Estañero, member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Civil Engineers, alongside Prof. Merly M. Gabin, LPT, MMREM, representing the Professional Regulation Commission Division-NCR, graced the inspection and monitoring to ensure that RTU CEA’s Civil Engineering department upholds the highest standards of education, professional development, and commitment within the field of Civil Engineering.

Engr. Aleli N. Rey, the department head of Civil Engineering commenced proceedings by presenting a detailed video highlighting the program’s roster of professors. She also provided insight into RTU’s central mission, vision, philosophy, and the college’s goals and objectives.

The presentation was followed by an interactive open forum and deliberation session, fostering meaningful dialogue between the visiting board members and RTU Civil Engineering faculty. This exchange of ideas aimed to ensure alignment with industry demands, enhance student learning outcomes, and strategize for continuous improvement.

The presence of the Professional Regulatory Board of Civil Engineers member and the representative of PRC-NCR Dision signifies their commitment to upholding quality standards within the field. The inspection aimed to ensure compliance with required standards for civil engineering education and emphasize the importance of adherence to technical standards by professionals.

The visit is very significant for engineering faculties, providing them with valuable insights and recommendations from esteemed professionals. The expertise and guidance provided are expected to enhance the preparation of engineering students for board examinations. The adoption of recommendations and strategies proposed by the monitoring team is anticipated to contribute to a further increase in the passing rate of board examinees in the field of Civil Engineering from the university.
