The event commenced with an inspiring welcome from IALO Director Mr. Donato Z. His message was further reinforced by Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (VPRIES), who underscored the importance of participating in international conferences, seminars, and strategic research forums as a means to enhance both research impact and institutional reputation.

The seminar-workshop offered valuable insights into how strategic research engagement and active participation in the global academic community contribute to international recognition and improved university rankings. A key highlight of the event was the talk delivered by Dr. Gaudencio C. Petalcorin, Jr., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), who provided practical strategies for developing Scopus-indexed research, underscoring the role of high-impact publications in achieving academic excellence.

This initiative reflects RTU’s steadfast commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence and internationalization. By creating platforms for collaboration, encouraging global publication, and engaging in international academic networks, RTU continues to pursue its vision of global academic distinction and innovation.
