47 Grade 8 students from the Ilaya Barangka Integrated School (IBIS) received an introduction to the fundamentals of Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) from Rizaliano extensionists from the Bachelor in Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) Department of Rizal Technological University (RTU) through the extension program titled “PLUG IN YOUR FUTURE: A Hands-on Introduction to Computer System Servicing”.

The activity-based extension program was conducted on March 4, 2026, to enhance learners’ technical awareness and practical skills in information technology, particularly in CSS.

Instr. Mariacil Agustin-Villanueva, Project Leader of PLUG IN YOUR FUTURE, underscored the importance of developing digital and technical competencies among young learners in preparation for higher education and employment.

College of Education students majoring in Computer System Servicing from the BTVTED Department also provided support and assistance to the program as student volunteers. Their role in facilitating the demonstrations and practical exercises enriched the program and brought a relaxed atmosphere with the young learners from IBIS.

With PLUG IN YOUR FUTURE, the 47 students gained valuable experience in the basic concepts of CSS, including hardware and software components, networking principles, and proper safety practices in handling computer equipment. To ensure actual learning, the students also performed introductory hands-on tasks such as identifying computer parts, utilizing CSS tools, and applying basic troubleshooting techniques.

The program ultimately helped the students appreciate the relevance of CSS skills in everyday life in the digital era and future career opportunities, while encouraging them to explore Information Technology and technical pathways within ICT.
