On December 17, 2024, Rizal Technological University (RTU) celebrated the inaugural Gawad Rizaliano Awards at the University Quadrangle, RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus. Themed Pioneers of Progress: Honoring Leaders and Visionaries in the Community, the event honored exceptional individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to societal progress.
The event showcased RTU’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and visionary leadership, inspiring transformative change within the community and beyond. Guests, honorees, and attendees gathered in a celebratory atmosphere that embodied the university’s enduring legacy and values of being “Forever True to the Gold and Blue.”
The inaugural Gawad Rizaliano Awards celebrated and attended outstanding individuals and organizations who have significantly contributed to progress and innovation across various fields.
Among the honorees for Gantimpala ng Kahusayan Rizaliano were Atty. Cecilio Dioneda Duka, Ed.D., Dr. Fortunato “Boy” T. DeLa Peña, Engr. Chuck G. Ebalo, Mr. Rove John Juarez, and Mrs. Chiqui Escareal-Go. These individuals have demonstrated outstanding excellence, pioneer works, and strong leadership in their respective fields, significantly contributing to progress within the community or industry. They are trailblazers and experts in their industry, and catalysts of inspiration for the youth.
Recognized for their environmental efforts under Gawad Kampeon ng Pagsulong ng Kalikasan were Century Pacific and Globe Telecom. These organizations made exceptional contributions to environmental sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and sustainable development in their industries or communities.
The Natatanging Gawad ng Pagtutulungan ng Industriya highlighted partnerships and collaboration with awardees including LG Electronics Philippines Inc., the Department of Trade and Industry – Philippine Trade Training Center, Wadhwani, JOBS180, Enchild, Goldilocks, COMM Builders and Technology, RS Bernaldo and Associates, Civil Service – Makati, PNP-Mandaluyong, and the Commission on Audit-NCR.
Community-focused organizations and initiatives were celebrated in the Gawad Para sa Pagpapalakas ng Pamayanan, with awards presented to the Gawad Kalinga Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Philippines Foundation, Inc., No One in Need Foundation, Inc., Pasig City CSO Academy, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Mandaluyong City, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Ina Healing Center.
Youth leadership shone brightly in the Gawad Pamumuno ng Kabataan, with Hon. Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas, Mr. Patrick Manuel, and Mr. Rainier S. Ladic, MA, RPsy, receiving recognition.
The Gawad Tagapagtaguyod ng Pamanang Kultura at Sining was awarded to Mrs. Reydora Flordeliza for her dedication to preserving and promoting cultural heritage and the arts.
The highest award, Gawad ng Pinakamataas na Pagkilala, honored Dr. Jose Q. Macaballug, Emerson Manila, Cong. Neptali M. Gonzales II, and the City Government of MAndaluyong City for their exceptional contributions to the development of Rizal Technological University.
The event was organized by this year’s Gawad Rizaliano Committee chaired by the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), Dr. Rodolfo L. Ducut. The program was a resounding success, bringing together visionary leaders and changemakers to celebrate excellence and innovation.
