The 34th State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) National Capital Region (NCR) games commenced on November 25, 2024, with an inspiring opening ceremony at Kartilya ng Katipunan. Themed “Iskolar at Atletang NCR, Kaagapay Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas” (Scholar-Athletes of NCR, Partnering Towards a New Philippines), the event celebrated the potential of student-athletes in driving national progress.

Officials from Rizal Technological University (RTU), led by University President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco; University Vice Presidents; Dr. Roldolfo Ductut, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), Dr. Kristine Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), Dr. Salvacion Pachejo Vice President for Planning, Quality Assurance and Strategic Initiative (VPQASI), Dr. Magno Quendangan, (VPRIES), and the Pasig Branch Chancellor. Dr. Corazon Austria. The Dean of the Office of Students and Alumni Affairs (OSAAS), Dr. Rodrigo Tomas, and the   Head of the University Sports Development Unit, Prof. Mark Santos, were also present to show their unwavering support.

The opening ceremony transcended traditional sporting events, positioning student-athletes as crucial contributors to societal advancement. Participants from various state colleges and universities across NCR gathered to showcase not just athletic skills, but the interconnection between academic excellence and athletic achievement. The event highlighted the role of young scholars in fostering national unity and resilience, transforming the competition into a powerful platform for national inspiration.
