The Rizal Technological University (RTU) recently hosted a delegation of distinguished business leaders from Japan as part of its continuing commitment to internationalization and global engagement last September 17, 2025 at the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) Conference Room, RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus.
Spearheaded by the IALO, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, the visit brought together presidents from leading Japanese companies: Mr. Muneaki Shinkai, President of Yuwa Kenko Co., Ltd. ; Mr. Kenichi Toko, President of Toko Co., Ltd.; Mr. Mamoru Imutra, President of Eiwa Co., Ltd.;Mr. Ikumi Sato, President of Javich Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Ryu Yamashita, President of Kosuko Co., Ltd. Joining the discussions were RTU’s College of Engineering (CEng), headed by Dean Engr. Wilfredo Timajo, and the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, who both emphasized RTU’s readiness to engage in global linkages that advance knowledge and innovation.
The dialogue centered on the possibility of creating joint projects, faculty and student exchanges, internships, and research initiatives that align with both RTU’s academic strengths and the technological expertise of the visiting companies, strengthening academic-industry ties and opening new opportunities for Philippine–Japan collaboration. With the growing interest from Japanese partners, RTU continues to position itself as a dynamic hub of international partnerships benefitting its students, faculty, and the broader community.
