Rizal Technological University (RTU) made history on December 17, 2024, as its president, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, delivered the university’s inaugural State of the University Address. Held at the university quadrangle, the event carried the theme “Matimyas na Panaad sa Pandayang Rizalia,” symbolizing RTU’s dedication to excellence and innovation.

Dr. Yangco outlined RTU’s significant accomplishments from 2019 to 2024 in her address. These include the consistent increase in student enrollment, various scholarship programs through the UniFAST Tertiary Education Subsidy and Tulong Dunong Program, and institutional scholarships.

The President emphasized RTU’s academic achievements, including receiving Certificates of Program Compliance for 17 academic programs and attaining high accreditation levels for various courses, with 14 programs reaching Level III and 19 at Level II and one at Level I. The university’s research productivity was highlighted and a remarkable increase in faculty researchers.

Dr. Yangco also highlighted RTU’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement through groundbreaking initiatives like the Urban Agriculture Project and the Mushroom Biotechnology Program, along with extension activities that served over 5,000 participants.

Her address also highlighted key areas such as research programs, faculty development initiatives, internationalization efforts, and good governance.

During her speech, the president also formally introduced the university’s official mantra, “Pandayang Rizaliano.” She concluded her speech by sharing her vision for RTU.

Truly, Dr. Yangco’s leadership, marked by inclusivity and progress, continues to position RTU as a leader in academic excellence and societal impact.
