ANI NG SINING, DIWA, AT DAMDAMIN: February 2025 Flag Raising Ceremony

As the nation celebrates Arts Month, Rizal Technological University (RTU) proudly hosted a Flag Raising Ceremony with the theme “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin” (The Soul of Art, Spirit, and Emotion). The program demonstrated the university’s commitment to promoting creativity, well-being, and community.

The ceremony, hosted by Instr. Carina Nocillado and Instr. Vincent Anthony De Vera, began with a solemn performance by Himig Rizalia of the doxology and national anthem. Dr. Wendelyn A. Samarita, Dean of the College of Education (CED) delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the celebration and emphasizing the role of art in nurturing the human spirit. And in her speech, Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco, the University President, highlighted RTU’s participation in celebrating Arts Month and reminded the students of the value of exhibiting love in congruence with the love month (February).

Himig Rizalia delivered a performance, singing “Araw-araw” by Ben & Ben. Then Dr. Alfred Potenciano took the stage, sharing valuable insights and advice on common heart diseases, their causes, and effective treatments while encouraging attendees to practice holistic wellness. CED’s Associate Dean. Instr. Samuel Balbin gave his closing remarks emphasizing the importance of Arts Month, with RTU Kultura Rizalia’s entertaining performance that brought the celebration to an aesthetic and lively conclusion.

RTU once again proved its commitment to values that promote creativity, wellness, and community. By embracing the arts, the university creates a culture that nurtures the human spirit, motivating students, faculty, and staff to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. As RTU celebrates Arts Month, it remains committed to building a community that values artistic expression, holistic wellness, and the pursuit of knowledge.
