Rizal Technological University (RTU) takes a proactive stance in environmental action through a collaborative effort with ASEZ, World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group – Parañaque Branch, who visited the Mandaluyong Main Campus, for their Zero Plastic Waste 2040 Initiative, inviting both students and faculties alike to this campaign last Monday, August 4, 2025.
The ASEZ University Student Volunteer Group advocates saving the planet Earth through their various environmental campaigns and have been visiting various schools to spread their advocacy. The campaign emphasized the importance of reducing single-use plastics and choosing safer and eco-friendly alternatives. There were also interactive discussions, information distribution via leaflets, and demonstrations on how to implement the ‘No Plastic Policy’ in daily life.
The International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO)’s Director, Instr. Donato Z. Estocada, showed his support to this campaign by forging a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ASEZ World Mission Society -Parañaque Branch’s Branch Manager, Mr. Phil Park, marking RTU as one of its partners. Moreover, his office spearheaded this campaign for implementing the “NO-PLASTIC POLICY” starting this August.
RTU’s support to these initiatives reflects on the institution’s participation in the United Nations’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as these campaigns are all part of the SDG’s objectives and initiatives.
