Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), in partnership with Zhangzhou City Vocational College (ZCVC), conducted the Traditional Chinese Festivals Online Class on April 21, 2026. The virtual initiative brought together a diverse group of RTU students and employees in a dynamic international learning environment to promote cultural awareness and strengthen academic collaboration.

The program underscored the importance of global partnerships and intercultural understanding in today’s academic landscape, emphasizing the vital role of such initiatives in the holistic development of learners by exposing them to different cultural perspectives, traditions, and global practices.

A highlight of the event was the engaging lecture by resource speakers from ZCVC, who introduced participants to some of China’s most celebrated traditional festivals, including the Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Lantern Festival. Each celebration was discussed in depth, covering its historical origins, cultural significance, and the unique customs observed across China. The session offered participants meaningful insights into Chinese heritage, enriching their appreciation of cultural diversity.

The program also featured an interactive segment that encouraged attendees to participate. Students and employees exchanged questions and shared their own cultural experiences, fostering a vibrant dialogue between Filipino participants and Chinese facilitators. This exchange of ideas not only deepened cultural understanding but also highlighted participants’ enthusiasm for global engagement.
